    d. No More than 6 Years to Top Step

    e. Return to All Career Workforce

    f. Reform the uniform system, end the uniform cartel!

  2. Union Democracy

    a. Build A Fighting NALC will conduct itself in a manner that reflects the democratic union we hope to see.

    i. The Highest Body is the membership, as represented by the General Membership meeting, and the annual Convention.

ii. Leadership shall carry out and honor the will of the membership

iii. Whenever possible, leadership will be elected. All elected leaders are subject to recall by a majority of membership.

iv. There shall be a clear process for members to bring proposals forward, and participate actively in union and caucus work.

    b. Build a Fighting NALC seeks to make our union represent all members, and to operate with transparency and accountability.

ii. End the slate-system of elections, all elections by Single Transferable Vote

iii. Full transparency over contract negotiations and rank-and-file representation on negotiation teams

iv. Union officials to be paid the no more than Top Step Pay

  3. Union Militancy

    a. Not one piece of mail and not one package moves through the USPS, but for the work of craft employees. It is our role as the center of the production process that gives us power.

    b. That power is on the shop floor, not in the halls of the legislature. The union must rebuild a culture of wall-to-wall organizing, action, and confrontation on the shop floor.

    c. Reaffirm support for past NALC Convention resolutions on the Right to Strike, and develop a strategy to win this right for its members: remove the “No Strike” clause from contract language and organize politically to repeal the strike ban for federal workers.

  4. Anti-Bigotry

    a. “An Injury to One is an Injury to All” that includes workers across all races, nationalities, genders, sexualities etc.

    b. Bigotry is an acid that dissolves solidarity, it must be outmaneuvered and out organized.

    c. BFN members strive to be good role models for others and good representatives of the labor movement. BFN stands against physical and verbal abuse including derogatory remarks, personal insults, threats, and any form of discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexuality, ability, or age.

  5. Worker Solidarity

    a. Privatization is a threat to our Universal Service Obligation and the idea of publicly provided service in general. It is also a threat to our wages and working conditions, and is pushed by the same corporate elite who have waged a decades-long assault on workers in the United States and across the world. We relentlessly oppose the privatization of the Postal Service.

    b. Letter Carriers are exploited, overworked, and mistreated not because we are unique, but because we are members of the international working class. Workers in the United States and across the globe have been losing because we are disorganized and divided politically. We strive to end this disorganization and division through an ironclad commitment to cross-craft, industrial, national and international solidarity. We stand with other workers, no matter where they are.

    c. Letter Carriers will not be able to acquire the dignified way of life we deserve until the entire logistics sector is organized in class-struggle unions. The NALC should coordinate with other Postal Unions and Unions in the private sector, and commit significant resources towards this joint effort.

    d. Every street and city is our work place, we deliver to every person, and our workforce reflects the entire width and breadth of Americans. We have an economic, political, and moral obligation to fight for the common good.
